A project file looks like the following (edited with Notepad++). Both this kind of files can be edited with a text editor. It can be saved with the format MLP (default meshlabproject file) or ALN (align file) under the menu FILE. It doesnt contain the point clouds itself. SAVING A PROJECT IN MeshLABA project is nothing more than an information structure. You can delete a layer by clicking the icon. You can turn off a layer by clicking in the eye icon. This software doesnt require installation. Again, there are no vertexes.ĦOPENING POINT CLOUDS IN CLOUD COMPARECloudCompare can be freely downloaded from. We see how many vertexes, the order for which coordinates are presented, and, in this case, there are no faces.ĥThe point cloud that correspond to this picture also presents normals for each point (we may say that there is an implicit surface), color (in RGB space), and a quality parameter (last column). In both cases the header of the file is readable. Binary encoding enables small file sizes but their content cant be edited manually.
